HCL Tech net up 23% YoY, Nayar is new CEO

New Delhi-based HCL Technologies posted a consolidated revenue of Rs 1,709.20 crore during its first quarter ended September 30, 2007 - a 23.9% rise over last year's figure during the same period. Its net income of Rs 308.40 crore was a 23.3% jump over the previous year's figure in the corresponding period.

On a sequential (compared to the previous quarter) basis, the revenue jumped 6%. However, the net income saw a 36.6% sequential drop this quarter since the company had made substanial forex gains (Rs 250.40 crore) during the previous quarter.

Meanwhile, Shiv Nadar, founder and chairman, HCL Technologies, today announced that Vineet Nayar, president, HCL Technologies will assume the CEO chair with effect from today. Shiv Nadar will now be the company's chairman and chief strategy officer.
