HCL Technologies today announced an agreement to join Power.org, the movement for accelerating collaborative innovation on the Power microprocessor technology. According to a release issued by HCL Technologies to the BSE today, "Power.org is dedicated to promoting the IBM Power Architecture as the preferred, open-standard hardware development platform for the electronic systems for consumer electronics, networking storage, military and automotive markets." The Power.org partnership will enable the company to closely align its design methodologies and IP with the needs of system-on-chip (SoC) designs based on the Power Architecture, and provide more extensive design services to customers desiring solutions based on the Power Architecture, the release added.
