Hiring cuts, pay rise

Infosys on Friday announced salary rises, giving cheer to 153,761 employees. However, it painted a gloomy picture for engineering aspirants planning to join the sector, by hiring only 6,000 students, a sharp drop from 19,000 done last year. It also decided to reduce the number of colleges it visits for campus hiring.
