Hughes Communications' satellite based education and training services, HughesNet Global Education, is planning to launch an interactive online supply network management course in collaboration with premier management institutes from September 1. |
The course would follow a two way online interactive model where the lectures would be transmitted live for around 400 students in 215 centres across 94 cities in the country. |
The company reportedly has tie-ups with IIM-Kolkata, IIT Delhi and XLRI, Jamshedpur among others. |
"Our education programmes seek to re-define the next generation of education through real time interactive onsite learning which would enable students of all backgrounds to get an opportunity to associate with distinguished academia,"said Vaibhav Magow, director marketing, HughesNetFusion. |
The company has also tied up with Kuoni Academy of Travel (KAT), a sister concern of SOTC tours and travels for an online diploma course in travel and tourism. |
So far, 4800 students have completed programmes through this platform and the number of students signing up for this service in Gujarat is likely to be around 500 by the end of the year, he added. |
Hughes is planning for a major expansion in Gujarat by opening 50 new centres shortly. At present the company operates 14 centres in the state and has planned to launch eight new centres in Ahmedabad and the others in Gandhinagar, Kheda, Anand, Godhra, Surendranagar, Himmatnagar, Mehsana and Nadiad. |
Along with the online education programmes, the centres would also be offering network services, digital media services, trunking and system integration services and a satellite based multi service superstore called HughesNetFusion service. |
