Hutch Essar, Gujarat's leading cellular service operator with over 8.2 lakh subscribers, has launched a voucherless pre-paid refill service called 'eTpUp'.

The service, which is at present available in Ahmedabad, will soon cover 20,000 Hutch retail outlets in Gujarat.

Also, Hutch subscribers will be able to recharge their connections while roaming across any of the 11 Hutch circles. While the remote recharge facility will be operational nationally shortly, a subscriber in Ahmedabad can avail of the eTopUp service with immediate effect.

"eTopUp will replace refill slips, leading to faster transfer of talktime as there would be no physical distribution of coupons. This is another first-of-its kind service from Hutch, showcasing our customer orientation and innovation," said Sanjoy Mukerji, chief executive officer, Hutch Gujarat.

Hutch's prepaid subscribers in Gujarat will now have the flexibility to refill their prepaid cards for any amount between Rs 324 and Rs 5,000.

To get a connection recharged a subscriber will need to go to any of the Hutch retails shops and pay the amount that needs to be recharged.

The retailer will then send a short messaging service (SMS) requesting the desired refill amount, following which the subscribers would instantaneously receive a SMS confirming the updated airtime details.
