Hutch opens its 3rd shop in Hyd

Launches interactive voice response service in Telugu

Leading mobile operator Hutch today introduced '123 Telugu', an interactive voice response service that allows subscribers to download ringtones and also get general information.
 
Addressing a press conference, Samuel Selvakumar, director (operations, south ), Hutchison Essar South Limited, said, "A large proportion of our users use Telugu as their primary language. The 123 service provides them information in the language they prefer and it is part of our endeavour to provide relevant and convenient service to our users."
 
Apart from downloading ringtones, the 123 Telugu service provides general information such as stock updates, cricket news, horoscopes, caller tunes and music cards.
 
Hutch on Wednesday also expanded its retail presence in Hyderabad by opening a new Hutch Shop. This is the third such shop in the city and the seventh in the state.
 
According to him, the shop would be a one-stop shop for product related queries from subscribers. "The shop would also offer a unique Multimedia Messaging (MMS) booth, which will enable customers to take pictures on their mobile and send them to others," Selvakumar said.
 
Hutch is the one of the largest providers of cellular services in India with presence in Delhi, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, Kolkata, Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh (East), Uttar Pradesh (West), West Bengal and Punjab. The company has its presence in Mumbai under the brand Orange.
 
Selvakumar said the company currently has 74 lakh subscribers across the country out of which 3.73 lakh subscribers are from Andhra Pradesh.
