Aiming to become the top cellular phone service provider in Goa, Hutch has finished revamping of its equipment.

Chief Executive Officer (Maharashtra and Goa circle), Rajiv Kohli said the company's telecom network was comparable to the best in the world. "We are trying to become number one in terms of capturing maximum market share," he added.

Kohli, who was in Goa to announce the tie-up with the Goa Football Association (GFA) for the league matches, said Hutch would be putting up 15 to 20 new cell sites in the state within few months.

At present, the company is covering 27 towns in the state. "Top service leadership and market leadership is our goal. The numbers will automatically come. The dedicated Hutch shops also are doing good service," he said.

"Our plan is to be identified with Goa," Kohli said adding that their main plank would be based on identification. At present, Hutch has a presence in 16 circles. Quoting COAI figures for July-end, Kohli said the total connections stood at 18.4 million.

Hutch would shortly launch a gallop of products in the near future and that the company would also expand its product range steadily. "These would mainly be GPRS-based," Kohli concluded.
