Hutch slashes roaming rate by 33%

Hutch today announced a 33% cut in roaming airtime rate. The move came after IT minister Dayanidhi Maran asked private cellular operators to reduce roaming charges.

The reduced tariff will come into effect from May 1, the company said in a statement.

The new rate would be Rs 1.99 per minute as against Rs 3 per minute now.
