Frost and Sullivan today named IBM India as the market leader in the enterprise portals, enterprise application integration and advanced collaboration platform category.

"IBM recognises that clients today need more than email and messaging for their collaboration needs, as a result IBM has evolved Lotus Notes and Domino to enhance productivity in an on demand business era," said R Dhamodaran, country executive - software group, IBM Software Group, according to a company release.

"IBM's strategy of offering solutions that are ahead of the customers expectation curve has made it easier for enterprises to gain innovative benefits from IBM solutions."

"This strategy has led to wider customer adoption and has translated into market share wins for IBM in India" said Alok Shende, Director - ICT Practice, Frost & Sullivan India.

Frost & Sullivan's market leadership awards analyse vendor revenues and market share within the industry.

For technology awards, the technologies and research projects are compared using customer base demands, the release added.

In addition, factors such as feasibility of product launch, likelihood of customer acceptance and acceptance rates, and estimated time to market are taken into consideration, the release said.
