IBS Software Services, a leading IT solutions provider to the global travel, transportation and logistics (TTL) industry, has urged the government to allot 10 acres of land in Infopark, Kochi, for building its new campus. The company is planning to invest over Rs 50 crore for the construction of the campus.

Confirming the move, V K Mathews, chairman and managing director of the company, told Business Standard that the investment would be only after one year.

Recently, IBS announced its plans to take up a floor space of 32,000 square-feet at the Leela group building on the Infopark campus as part of its expansion plans in Kochi. This space can accommodate 350 software professionals. This is the second facility within the Infopark for IBS, which started its Kochi operations in July 2005 from the Thapasya building.

"This is in line with our ramp up plans. The space will be just enough for us to cater to our requirements for the next six months. The IT industry is really buoyant in Kerala and we are in for exciting days," Mathews said.

IBS, Trivandrum, operates out of two buildings in Technopark that can accommodate close to 700 software professionals. Recently, about 12,000 sq ft of space was added at the Nila building, which houses IBS' headquarters.

As a first step towards actualising its plan to ramp up operations in Technopark, IBS acquired 5 acres of land on the campus in May last year.
