To launch 150 more centers across India
The Institute of Computer Accountants (ICA) has announced a technical collaboration with Annamalai University to launch B.Com in finance and investment.
Under this program, a student will gain practical knowledge in the fields of accounts, taxation, banking and ROC with latest softwares and computer application which is a unique opportunity of the course. The USP of the course, according to a release, is that students will get 'on the job training' in the second and third year of the course. As a result, at the end of the three year degree course, the student will have two years of work experience as well as a degree of B.Com (Finance & Investment) from Annamalai University. The course will be available at various ICA centers in Ahmedabad and other districts.
ICA has over 300 branches all across India with a turnover of Rs 100 crore. The institute also has plans to launch 150 more centres in a year, concentrating mostly in southern region, mainly in Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. ICA is also planning to establish centres in each district head quarter by March 2010.
Annamalai University is one of the largest and oldest state universities in southern India. "ICA's research and analysis on the subject of accountancy is used as the background for designing courses which aptly suits the requirement of modern industry. This prompted us to go ahead with the tie-up," said Shyamsukha, chairman, ICA Group.
ICA has so far placed more than 1 lakh 50 thousands students in organisations like BSNL, Pepsi, Kotak, Standard Chartered Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, Godrej, Emami, GE Caps, ICICI Bank, UTI,Pantaloons and IndiaBulls to name a few.
