There is a lot of synergy between India and the Gulf region in IT services sector and India is an attractive option for companies here seeking value at lower costs, a leading Tech Mahindra official has said.
Lucius Lobo, who heads the Global Information Security Services at Tech Mahindra, told PTI, this synergy is based on several aspects.
"A lot of security and IT professionals in the Gulf typically tend to be of Indian origin. So they are familiar with what India can offer. Secondly in all the businesses, during times of recession, there is a growing emphasis on better value at a lower cost," he said.
Lobo was in Dubai to participate in a Senior Executive Briefing Summit on Identity and Access Management for Enterprises on Tuesday, which the company had organised in association with Oracle.
"The average travel time from most of Middle East to India is about three hours and that's not a significant barrier. So there is also a proximity to the market," he said.
"From the IT security point of view, since we in India are slightly ahead in the market, we have already done a lot of things which can easily be replicated here," Lobo told PTI.
