A survey by DigitalOcean reveals that 44 per cent of India-based software developers are considering leaving their jobs this year, compared to 42 per cent globally.
The survey covered over 2,500 developers from 94 countries (including the US, India, Germany, Canada, and UK) on their participation in the open source (OS) community, job satisfaction, and challenges.
The Great Resignation of 2020-2021 has led to a shortage of developers, motivated largely by compensation and a desire for remote work, the survey reveals.
Developers are also leaving jobs to start their own firms. Entrepreneurship, clearly, is strong among this group.
