Infosys to ink MoU with govt today

Beginning a new chapter in the Andhra Pradesh IT sector, the Indian software giant, Infosys Technologies Limited, is all set to sign an MoU on Monday with the state government to set up the biggest-ever IT campus in 550 acres of land at the new international airport.
 
The company is expected to invest over Rs 1,000 crore in its second campus in Hyderabad.
 
Infosys chief N R Narayana Murthy is attending the milestone event at the company's Hyderabad facility, while Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy will address the Infosys' nearly 5,000-strong workforce on the occasion, according to officials.
 
"For the first time, an MoU of this kind is being signed not within the four walls of an office but at Infosys' campus at Gachibowli before a huge gathering of its employees," K Ratna Prabha, secretary, IT&C department, told Business Standard. Narayana Murthy is expected to disclose the company's plans and other details pertaining to their new campus on Monday.
 
The state government is allotting the required land to Infosys at the proposed IT SEZ coming up in an extent of 1,200 acres near the upcoming Shamshabad international airport.
