Information technology consulting company Infotech Engineering is evaluating Eastern Europe and Chinas as potential areas for new development centres, according to its chairman and managing director BVR Mohan Reddy.

“Some of our customers who have a large presence in China have been putting pressure on us to have a local engineering centre. The evaluation process is on,” he said in a filing to the BSE.

US, Asia Pacific and India have been the fastest growing regions for telecom and content engineering business segment. North America accounts for 55 per cent of the revenues, Europe 37.5 per cent and others 7.5 per cent. “The engineering segment is likely to grow by four per cent this year,”' he said.

Heavy engineering, hitech and utilities, telecom and government segments have been the growth drivers. However, the pricing pressure is highest on government contracts and also with telecom clients, he said.

The company during the quarter ended September 30 had a favourable exchange rate variance of three per cent due to forex fluctuations.
