Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Gary Bunney, chief operating officer - product operations and services at Intec Telecom Systems said, "the Bangalore centre is integral to Intec's activities in the supply of operations and business support systems (OSS/BSS), which are fundamental technologies for telecom companies." |
"They support the billing systems across all types of networks from fixed line telephony to advanced 3G mobile services, plus the latest offerings such as television services over Internet networks (IPTV)," he added. |
To grow the business in India, the company from its current strength of 25 people plans to be a 300 by December 2006. The company is also exploring product development and R&D activities in India. |
Intec Telecom Systems spent $22 million in 2003-04 towards R&D and plans to spend about $34 million this year (2004-05). Globally, the company has 670 installation of which 60 per cent are top 100 companies. To grow the business, so far the company has made eight acquisitions and has a marketcap of $430 million. |
Intec plans to close 2004-05 (October to September) with $215 million sales, compared to $130 million in 2003-04. |
