IT solutions major NComputing to expand in Uttar Pradesh

California-based global low cost computing solutions major NComputing is looking at Tier II and III cities of Uttar Pradesh for growth in the region.

The company, which specialises in creating virtual desktops, allowing multiple users to simultaneously share one computer, is also looking at various government departments, notably education, to sell its products.

“We are starting with strengthening our channel partner network in UP and later our business development teams would approach the various government departments and potential enterprises customers to create awareness about our services,” NComputing marketing manager (South Asia) Monali Handa told Business Standard.

Besides, the company is exploring the feasibility of opening its offices in Lucknow and Kanpur to service the region better, especially the small and medium business (SMB) segment. The company currently has offices in Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and Bangalore and has operations in around 140 countries.

 

“UP is an important and big market for us and we aim to offer innovative products at very affordable prices,” she added.

Under NComputing environment, a desktop could cost around Rs 4,000 and almost 30 such nodes could be connected to a single computer, which reduces both hardware and operating costs as they are energy efficient

With 1,000 channel partners across the country, India is the fastest growing region for the company posting a growth rate of 70 per cent. NComputing has also partnerships with Wipro, NIIT and Microsoft.

In Andhra Pradesh, the company provided the IT infrastructure in 5,000 government schools and in the second phase of the project, over 1,200 are being networked, she informed.
