Software major Ixia is eyeing a 50 per cent growth in its India business on the back of more outsourced work from the US and increasing network usage.

At present, Ixia provides performance test systems for IP-based infrastructure and services and operates in over 30 countries worldwide.

Speaking to Business Standard, Ixia president and COO Atul Bhatnagar said, "The use of networks is going up in India. Therefore validation of functionality and reliability of complex IP networks, devices, and applications is also going up. This alone will drive 50 per cent growth for Ixia."

The company is also eyeing acquisitions in the US.

"Ideally, we would like to acquire a 100 to 200-people company. An acquisition should also give us an expansion in our existing productline. For instance, we currently work in pre-deployment of network. We would like to acquire a company that offers post-deployment and monitoring of networks," pointed out Bhatnagar.

Ixia would also double its employee headcount at its Kolkata centre over the next two years.

Its Kolkata centre, at present, has 130 employees.

Ixia's India turnover is pegged at $15 million right now. Its global turnover is around $180 million.

Service providers, network and telephony system vendors, semiconductor manufacturers, governments, and enterprises use Ixia's test systems to validate the functionality and reliability of complex IP networks, devices, and applications.
