Supply chain solutions provider JDA Software Group today said it has entered into an agreement to acquire US-based i2 Technologies for an estimated $396 million.
Post acquisition, the combined entity will create a global leader in the market of supply chain planning and optimisation and will have annual revenue of $617 million, a release said.
"The i2 acquisition will firmly establish JDA as a leading enterprise software company with a deep focus on supply chain management and a full complement of managed and hosted services offerings," JDA Chief Executive Officer Hamish Brewer said in the release.
The acquisition is expected to completed in the first quarter of 2010 and will take the total customer-base of the company to 6,000, the company said.
Also, the near term operating synergies resulting from the combination are expected to produce net annual cost savings of around $20 million, it said.
JDA Software has a global customer base of more than 5,800 retailers, manufacturers, wholesaler-distributors and services industries.
