Jerry Rao becomes an 'angel' for his son

After investing in a wine company, Jaithirth (Jerry) Rao, non-executive chairman of MphasiS, has set sights on a legal processing firm (LPO), incidentally in which his son is an active member.
 
 
Jerry Rao has become an angel investor in a company called JuriMatrix, based in Bangalore and according to industry information, it is in the process of raising $12 million from a few of venture capital funds.
 
 
The company management was not available for comment. Jerry Rao has joined the board of this company as the non-executive chairman. JuriMatrix offers services such as litigation discovery, corporate due diligence, contract
 
management and legal research. Rajat Gupta, former MD of McKinsey and Hema Ravichandar former HR head of Infosys are advisors to the firm.
 
 
Besides his full time job as vice president and general manager of EDS' operations in India, Jerry Rao is also on the boards of Puravankara Projects, IDFC Private Equity, Gabriel India, Royal Orchids Hotels, Lotus India Asset Management, Juris Investments, VA tech Wabag besides a few others.
 
 
In the recent past, Rao has reportedly picked up stake in Bangalore-based Grover Vineyards and has also struck a contract farming agreement with the winemaker.
