A CyberMedia Dice-TNS survey reveals that 29 per cent of the job-seeking IT professionals are highly satisfied with their jobs. |
They are young and restless, and hence prone to changing jobs regularly. Contrary to popular beliefs, it's not the disgruntled employee who is looking for a job change. |
According to Abraham Karimpanal, head of technology practice of TNS India, "Nearly a fourth of the job-seeking IT professional is an extremely happy and committed lot with TRI*M Index over 70, significantly higher than the Indian industry average of 62." |
The TRI*M model measures, manages and monitors stakeholder relationships. In this case that of employees and employers. |
The survey was carried out by the Indian arm of TNS. TNS has used it worldwide to understand what drives relationships across groups including employees, channel partners and customers. |
A closer look at the profile indicates that they are restless, very ambitious professionals looking for a fasttrack career growth. |
"The challenge for the industry is to meet their ambitions and aspirations," said Pradeep Gupta, chairman and managing director, CyberMedia. |
The survey also attempted to try and track salary levels across geographies in India and also find the career-satisfaction, motivation and overall satisfaction. |
The survey finds that salaries in western and southern India are higher than the north and east. |
Salaries in Gurgaon, in the north, are now comparable with those offered in the IT capital Bangalore. |
