Kyazoonga: Your ticket to entertainment

Gone are the days when one had to stand in queues to buy movie tickets or even tickets for cricket matches. You really had to get up in the wee hours days before the match and make sure that you are ahead in the queue for tickets. Then came the internet and, more importantly, websites like www.kyazoonga.com. And voila, life became relatively easier.

Frankly, my first experience with Kyazoonga.com wasn’t that good. In the first edition of the Indian Premier League, despite being the ticketing partner, Kyazoonga.com had nothing to boast about. The site was too cluttered and it took an effort to book tickets. But the latest version of the portal makes ticketing a cakewalk. Forget movies or cricket matches, you can also book tickets for live concerts, amusement parks and plays as well.

Other online ticketing portals like www.Bookmyshow.com directly compete with Kyazoonga.com, but the latter is more than just ticketing. You will find links for movie reviews — you can write one as well — and even merchandise for various movies. There’s a download section from where you can get free movie posters, themes, screensavers and videos.

Interestingly, you get to read some really insightful articles written by sport stars like Sunil Gavaskar and Sourav Ganguly. Then again, these articles are pretty dated and the portal could do better on this front.

Another interesting feature is the ability to track the status of your tickets. This way, you don’t have to bother yourself with infuriating customer care executives for the status of your order — simply log on and locate when exactly your tickets or merchandise would be delivered. We have to appreciate the social marketing approach adopted by Kyazoonga.com for its users. Like inclusion of Twitter feeds through which users are told about offers and promotions. In case of theatrical shows and plays, you can find out which particular play’s tickets are available in your city.

Still, we feel that the site could do with some level of interactivity with the user. At times, there are too many delays in executing the whole ticketing process. So, perhaps adding some free games online would be a good idea. Noticeably, the site suffers from some technical snags, like the transaction being declined at the last moment.
