L&T Infotech, the information technology (IT) arm of Larsen and Toubro, has hired 1,000 people in the past four months. With this, the company also took in all the students to whom it had first given offers, but who then could not join due to the global economic slowdown. “Almost two weeks ago, we also announced wage hikes across the board. The hikes are in the higher single digits and in the same range as the 2008 hikes,” CEO Sudeep Banerjee said.
