Latens Systems opens Hyderabad delivery centre

Belfast-based Latens Systems, a provider of software security solutions for pay-TV and conditional access system (CAS), would sign agreements with two Indian DTH operators as part of its expansion in South Asia and to expand its customer base in India.

Opening its global development centre here recently, Rahul Nehra, regional director, (Asia operations), Latens Systems, said, “The name of the operators cannot be disclosed at this point. But discussions are on and we will be signing the agreements in four to six weeks.”

The $2-3 million global development centre here, with 10,000 sft area, would double its size in the coming year. It would expand its employee strength to 100 by 2013 from the current 23.

 

At present, Latens has 2-3 million subscribers with three operators in South Asia, including Dish Media Networks in Nepal and Home TV and Reliance Digital in India.

Mark Crum, head (India Operations), Latens Systems, said this was the largest global development centre for any CAS company for its operations outside its country. The centre will provide CAS solutions to Indonesia, Philippines and Bangladesh.

Latens started its operations six years ago with its development centre in the UK.
