Make in India: Huawei Honor Holly 3 launched

Chinese electronic major Huawei on Wednesday announced the launch of Honor Holly 3 smartphone in India. 

Honor smartphones, which are exclusive to e-commerce, is a sub-brand of Huawei and Honor Holly 3 is the first smartphone that is being manufactured by the company in India supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' initiative.

The smartphone will be manufacture at the Flex's manufacturing facility near Chennai. In future, other products will also be manufactured in the same facility, said the company.

Till date, the company has launched 10 smartphones in India that includes camera-centric Huawei P9 and it's affordable sibling Honor 8.
 
Initially, the company has been selling its products online. The company is now ramping its operation rapidly in India and the phones are now available for purchase through 10,000 offline stores.

Also, Huawei has set up a a global Research and Development (R&D) centre in Bangalore to develop products specific for India customers.

Huawei, the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, clocked sales of over 20 million Honor phones in 2014, accounting for a global revenue of about $2.4 billion and closed $6 billion global sales in 2015.
