Matrix Cellular opens first office in Punjab

Delhi-based Matrix Cellular (International) Services Private Ltd on Wednesday opened its first office in the Punjab circle in Chandigarh.
 
The firm provides mobile phones and wireless communication service, domestic and international. As part of its expansion plans, two more offices, in Jalandhar and Ludhiana, will be operationalised, along with 6-10 offices in other parts of the country.
 
"In the region the core user group we are going to target will be students going abroad for studies, businessmen, corporate houses and leisure travelers," said Anish Khanna, deputy general manager, international sales, Matrix Cellular (International) Services Private Ltd.
 
According to him, with the three offices operational in Punjab and Chandigarh, the company is expecting the region to contribute 15 per cent to the annual turnover of the company.
 
With an annual turnover of Rs 40 crore in 2004-05 the company is looking at an annual growth of 55-60 percent.
 
Currently Matrix Cellular services (International) services Private Limited company offices are in Delhi,Mumbai and Bangalore. As a part of a nationwide expansion the company will be setting offices in Chennai, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ahmedabad, Pune and Hyderabad by the year end .
 
The brand was the first to introduce concept of local connectivity, by offering country specific mobile connection ,low airtime rates, global coverage and 24X7 customer care.
 
"Our focus is to provide country specific mobile connections that help travelers save up to 60 percent of International roaming charges while enjoying all the services being provided by the network in any country," he said.
 
For now the company has contractual arrangements with 28 countries for providing country specific mobile connections and is in the process of including more and more countries. "With the 15th Asian games taking place from 1-15 December '2006 in Doha, Quatar, we plan to add the country,"informed Sachdev.
