Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 comes at an amount of Rs 6,349

Adrija Chatterjee New Delhi
Smartphones are one of the few entities which will never stop being a rage. The consistent increase in the number of devices available in the market has only intensified the competition. Recently, the launches I have been to has made me realise that the phase of cheap smartphones have been replaced by smartphones which give you high resolution cameras as well as 4G connectivity. The price element seem to have taken a back seat as market surveys have indicated an increase in the purchasing power of buyers.

Samsung which launched its J series this year and Chinese smartphone company Vivo’s V series all belong to the above Rs 10,000  bracket. Infact Sony’s recent flagship model Aqua is priced as high as  Rs 50,000 as well as LG’s leather finish G4 priced at around  Rs 40,000 when launched.

One can easily say that apart from a few other smartphone brands like Xiaomi and Lava, Indian company Micromax is a loyalist when it comes to launching smartphones, packed with features at astonishingly affordable ranges. This brings us to the recently launched  Micromax Canvas Xpress 2, which offers you a high resolution display, 13 MP rear camera and a beautifully curved body for a meagre amount of Rs 6,349.

The Canvas Xpress 2 launched this year has a flawless and crisp visual flaunting a 5 inch display and really sharp audio quality. Infact, Micromax has always flooded the market with smartphones under the Rs 10,000 bracket, a trend fast depleting. Some of the better phones in this range from Micromax would be Micromax Canvas Spark priced presently around Rs 5,000, Micromax Canvas Nitro A311 priced at  Rs 7,999 and Micromax Canvas Doodle 3 (a very successful series) priced at Rs 6,371. The Xpress 2 also comes with a 2500 mAh battery which will lasts a moderate user for more than 24 hours.

So, what else do you need in a phone this inexpensive?  Excellent battery life, a rare 13 MP camera along with HD visual and a good exterior. But, what is missing is the latest version  of Android, this one has Kitkat and a 4G support system. Since the smartphone market has moved from selfies to 4G connectivity and its perk, Xpress 2 loses out on this front. However, you just cannot ignore Micromax’s ingenius effort in bringing out this light on the pocket dynamite. Canvas Xpress 2 is nothing short of a mid-range smartphone stunner.
