Mobera Systems of Chandigarh has become the first IT company in the northern region to get a certificate of recognition (CoR) from Nasscom and Business Software Alliance.

CoR was a unique programme of Nasscom's to encourage organisations to respect and follow Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) best practices, and Mobera Systems was the first company north of NCR Delhi to adopt the standards demonstrated by respecting IPR, using licensed software, and voluntarily opening its internal processes for independent audit, said Sanjay Tyagi, additional director, STPI, while presenting the CoR to Mobera here today.

Complimenting Mobera, Tyagi said they were proud of having a company in their region which, being an SME, had all the potential to become a leading name in contract R&D. So far, only 15 IT companies in the country have been certified under this programme.

"The Indian IT industry is poised for major innovations, R&D and development of original software products, which necessitates the sensitisation of the IT industry in the country towards IP," says Puneet Vatsayan, director of Mobera Systems.

"Protection of IPR is an integral and important component of our business philosophy," said Anupama Arya, the other director of Mobera Systems.

Mobera Systems is being promoted by Vatsayan and Arya, both IT professionals.
