Technopark-based MobME Wireless Solutions has introduced a new service by which citizens can check their Voter ID details by sending an SMS. The new service is launched through the Mobile Governance Project of Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM).

With this service, citizens can verify the Voter ID details and also get information about the polling booth in which the vote has to be cast. The service is available across all telecom service providers in Kerala.
The company aims to make the voting details of an individual easily accessible and thus avoid dependency on external factors to have access to their voter details. In future, this solution is expected to help citizens from waiting for the political parties to issue voters slip to cast their votes.
“The Chief Electoral Office, Alappuzha Collectorate, Kozhikode Collectorate have been provided accees to the the M-Governance Platform for sending election related messages to key officials,” said MobME CEO, Sanjay Vijayakumar.
He said this project had won the Nasscom Innovation Award for Market Facing Innovation for the year 2011.
