Monster, an online career and recruitment solutions provider which has its India headquarters based out of Hyderabad, has partnered V Skills, a testing and certification programme conducted by Intelligent Communication Systems India Limited (ICSIL).
ICSIL is a joint venture between government enterprise Telecommunication Consultants India Limited and the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC).
India is the second most populated country, comprising 700 million people under the age group of 26 years. The sheer numerical base of the youth population presents India with a unique advantage but also poses a long-term challenge as majority are not ‘industry-ready’.
With skill development and employability increasingly grabbing attention, a collaborative approach by the government, industry and corporates is required to bridge the skill gap and increase productivity and output, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
Under the partnership, V Skills, powered by Monster’s technology, will address and bridge the employability gap in the country. The alliance will entail Monsterindia.com supporting V Skills as an online sales and marketing partner for promoting and selling its certification courses, besides designing and developing the test interface for the certification programme.
“Today, employability of the young workforce has become one of the key challenges plaguing the Indian economy. Multifarious factors like significant skill gap, dearth of vocational training, unstructured educational curriculum is resulting in this limited talent pool,” said Sanjay Modi, managing director (India, West Asia, Southeast Asia), Monster.
“By collaborating with V Skills, Monster will dually address the challenges faced by burgeoning corporate India in finding qualified employees as well as enabling job seekers to accelerate their career by providing them certification and a rich cross-learning experience.”
