Moser Baer to manufacture mobiles

Optical media maker Moser Baer will start manufacturing mobile phone
handsets in the next six months.

"The production (of mobile phone handsets) will begin in the next six months," Moser Baer chairman Deepak Puri said today.

Moser Baer is the second Indian company to announce plans to manufacture handsets. The first one to do so was BPL.

Apart from the Indian companies, many multinationals like Nokia and LG, too, are firming up plans to manufacture mobile handsets in India.
