Mphasis BFL's Q3 net dips 6%

Mphasis BFL has posted a 6% dip in consolidated net profit to Rs 26.86 crore for the thrid quarter ended December 31, 2004 as compared to Rs 28.50 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2003.

According to a release issued to the BSE, total revenue increased 23.46% to Rs 191.50 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2004 from Rs 155.10 crore in Q3FY04.

Mphasis BFL posted a 50% decline in net profit to Rs 10.95 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2004 as compared to Rs 22.05 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2003. Total revenue decreased from Rs 70.18 crore in Q3FY04 to Rs 60.73 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2004.

Commenting on the results, Jerry Rao, chairman and CEO, said: "The group has had a steady quarter with the overall staff numbers exceeding 8,000 people, representing an increase of 821 in the current quarter. The BPO business continues to show steady growth and increasing profitability. We have had some good client acquisitions in both our IT & BPO businesses this quarter, which augurs well for the next fiscal."
