Mphasis Q2 YoY net up 27%

Mphasis BFL today reported a 27.45% increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 40.16 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005 as against Rs 31.51 crore in Q2FY05.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 230.22 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005 from Rs 191.10 crore in Q2FY05.

Jerry Rao, chairman and CEO, said: " We have crossed the $100 million mark in revenues in 6 months this year and also crossed the Rs 40 crore mark in profit this quarter - two significant milestones. Our IT services business has had another good quarter. Although the BPO revenues have been flat this quarter, the operating metrics have shown improvement. We have added more than 1,200 people in BPO this quarter, and the revenue should flow through in the coming quarters."
