Nasscom, the apex trade body for the Indian IT industry today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Association of Information Technology Companies (ACTI), Chile. The MoU was signed by Som Mittal, President, Nasscom and Miguel Pérez, President, ACTI at Chennai.
Mittal said that with this alliance The two bodies hoped to further strengthen the IT association between the two countries. The MoU is aimed at encouraging contribution towards growth and development of the IT sectors in both the countries.
As a part of the MOU, NASSCOM and ACTI share common goals and will act as a channel for mutual collaboration between the IT companies in both the countries. It will also help create platforms such as work programs which will facilitate sharing of experiences and complementary abilities.
Both parties will interchange information, publications, and opinions that concern the growth and development of the IT industry of each country, once a year.
Work towards constructing a systematic collaboration of placing in the market innovations that are produced in India, so that Chile shall be the “First Technology Adopter and Adapter”, giving the Chilean businesses access to latest technologies as well as exporting them to the Latin American and other markets as per the agreement between both the parties
This would leverage the maturity of the Indian IT firms to replicate successful Indian IT mode, customize products & services as per the needs of the Chilean market and also invest in local operations etc.
To carry out joint studies on “strategies and the best practices of the IT industry in Latin America” for exportation. The MoU will also support the training and certification of the IT workforce in both the countries.
