Nasscom names 15 emerging IT-BPOs in India

Corbus India has been named the most-lucrative emerging company to work for, in a new survery by information technology industry body Nasscom.
 
In its first survey on the 'Top 15 Exciting Emerging Companies to Work for' in the IT-BPO sector in India, Nasscom identified the best small- and medium-enterprises that had a turnover of less than Rs 250 crore.
 
The top five emerging firms included RMSI, followed by Hytech Professionals India, Nagarro India and VCustomer Services India.
 
The Exciting Emerging Companies' (EEC) survey also revealed that smaller companies are adopting practices such as balanced scorecards for performance appraisal and designing of performance grade cards, to enhance productivity. The survey notes that such practices make the company more attractive to employees.
 
Kiran Karnik, President, Nasscom, said, "The Indian IT industry has set an exceptionally high standard with regard to workplace and employee practices."
 
He said, "While there are benchmarks that exist across industries, we felt that for the emerging companies segment, it is critical to identify and appreciate the front-runners, who are employers of choice, and aptly showcase them."
 
The survey noted that while training was provided by all organisations, a sophisticated approach to the process was missing.
 
Further, identifying that integration between career planning, training and development and performance appraisal is an important need for the companies.
 
The study said that the top 15 companies in the list all formed a career planning and development mechanism Constant and effective communication, were also identified as key factors for the successful working of an organistion.
 
Meanwhile, the presence of documentation, the blueprint of any process, was also identified as a key differentiator along with climate surveys, benchmarking and recreational activities.
