Sonata Software has announced the expansion of its Microsoft Competence Centre (MCC) at Hyderabad, and that the company is targeting another 300 key Microsoft-skilled resources within the next few months.

The augmented MCC will provide services like development of vertical-frameworks on Microsoft Business Solutions, analytics based on business intelligence and solutions based on emerging technologies like Yukon and Whidbey.

Yukon is the code-name for the next version of SQL database server, while Whidbey is the code name of Microsoft's next release of Visual Studio, a developer productivity tool.

According to Sonata, the MCC will develop high-impact business solutions, which will result in faster, effective deployment of enterprise solutions for the clients.

Jnan Dash, an executive consultant to many CEOs and serving on boards of several Silicon Valley companies, has been appointed the chief technology officer to give a fillip to Sonata's technology strategy.
