NIIT to have access to the latest offerings from Sun. |
Software and training organisation NIIT said it had tied up with Sun Microsystems India to introduce specialised education and training programmes for students. |
The two companies signed an agreement to this effect today, NIIT informed the Bombay Stock Exchange. |
Through this alliance NIIT would have access to the latest Sun Technologies, tools, technical resources and curriculum on java and solaris platforms and also be able to offer a range of customised programmes to students through its network of IT education centres. |
The initial launch would focus on the Sun Java platform while Solaris would be addressed later this year, NIIT said. |
"We are delighted to partner with Sun Microsystems. This alliance and our new curriculum will ensure that NIIT students continue to be equipped with skills and know-how on the latest generation of software development tools and techniques," NIIT chief executive officer Vijay Thadani said. |
The latest generation of the Sun Java platform would now be included in NIIT's GNIIT curriculum for undergraduate students. For the working professionals, the high end Sun curriculum would be integrated into the NIIT's Cats (curriculum for advanced technology studies) offerings. |
