The National Institute of Technology-Warangal (NIT-W) has signed memoranda of understandings with University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology in Finland for academic collaborations.
Addressing a conference here Thursday, NIT-W director YV Rao said the MoUs would aid the partners in understanding the teaching methodologies, content and enable industry interaction with each other. As part of this, there would also be faculty and student exchanges for summer internship.
The two partnering institutes have expertise in science, research, technology and architecture streams.
NIT-W is also in talks with other foreign universities to enhance the competitiveness of research, education and expertise of students. The selection of students for the exchange programme would be based on academic performance. The host university would bear the living expenses of the students selected do internship in Finland, Rao said.
In the first phase, the focus would be on promoting student mobility in areas of mutual interest. The second phase would have intensive courses and international exposure and engage the students in companies in Finland and India, he said.
