Azim Premji today said there was no question of setting recruitment quotas at Wipro and merit alone would take priority. |
"Nearly 80 per cent of our revenue comes from overseas business and we have to field the best available talent to service our clients. In this scenario, there is absolutely no question of reservation and all recruitment at Wipro will be based on merit," Premji said. |
His statement comes a day after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asked industries to broadbase employment. |
"We compete with global companies. We are primarily in the service business in terms of the mix of our consolidated revenue," he said, adding that the "service business is highly people-dependent. People make the company successful or people make you less successful", he added. |
