Noida-based FCS Software Solutions has introduced the FCS Leadership Programme (FLP). According to the company, the programme will help corporate leaders channel employee freedom into a model of manpower efficiency.

"Freedom is a state of mind that motivates the human brain with an optimum level of comfort to go for excellence," said Dalip Kumar, managing director, FCS.

"Our FLP does the same. It creates a framework of 'empowered freedom', a freedom that creates an atmosphere which leads to growth," he added.

FLP is an intranet-based interactive e-learning programme, which team leaders can access and modify according to their personal experiences.

Those undergoing the FLP, meet for two hours on the first day of the week to discuss the implementation of ideas gathered from its eight e-learning modules.

The programme encourages team leaders to allow even the junior members of the team to take decisions. The team leader's role is to be non-interfering.

"We reward leaders who become redundant for the team. His job is not to be a mentor but a facilitator for the juniors. During our appraisal cycle, we ask team members if the leader has been successful in doing these," explained Kumar.

Developed over a period of five years, FLP involved mapping the existing leadership practices in the company and their effects on the workplace and on corporate performance.
