Nokia launches OVI Music Unlimited

In an attempt to deliver portable unlimited music to its consumers in a legal way, Nokia launched its Ovi Music Unlimited (OMU) in Kolkata.

The leading mobile handset manufacturer has tied up with major global lebles and more than 150 local music lables and publishers to create the OMU catalogues.

The latest Nokia mobile phone models would have the inbuilt technology which allows the customer to subscribe to 4 million legal tracks.

"As the music industry is reeling under the challanges of illegal downloads that pumps out a substantial money from the industry, Nokia OVI Music Unlimited would enable the music inddustry to monetize hese downloads." said Jasmeet Gandhi, head, OPM and Devices, Nokia India.

 

At the launch of the OMU kolkata chapter, veteran singer Usha Uthup and rock band cactus were present to lend their support to this unique initiative of Nokia to counter piracy and to save music.
