Omnitech InfoSolutions, an IT technology services provider, has come up with a product, Omnimonitor, to monitor IT-related infrastructure.

It initially plans to launch the product in Mumbai and Pune. It is a plug-and-play device in the shape of a box weighing 2.5 kg. It will keep a watch on IT infrastructure and issue alerts in case of any error.

The alerts will be issued via email, SMS or voice alert. The company took two years to bring out the product.

"It is a self-operating device. It will give an alert if any equipment such as CPU shows signs of over-utilisation so that corrective steps could be taken before the servers go down," said Atul Hemani, chairman and managing director, Omnitech InfoSolutions.

"Pressure is increasing on IT infrastructure necessitating regular monitoring. In this respect, Omnimonitor will be useful," Hemani added.

Based on the requirement of a company to monitor different parameters, they could use the services of the company at an annual service charge of Rs 40,000 and more. They need not buy the device.

The parameters include CPU utilisation, memory utilisation, disc space, performance of servers, each counted as a point. Omnimonitor has capacity to monitor 100 points.

The device is also useful for companies with multiple units. Omnimonitor can monitor all the units from one place provided all units are under the same network.

"We are targeting 1,00,000 units by the year end. Any organisation with IT infrastructure will need this and we will help them without disturbing their existing set up," he pointed out.

The company is focusing on banking and financial services industry (BFSI), services and manufacturing sector and government organisations.
