A year after OnePlus managed to conquer the smartphone market with its very first offering — the mid-range priced flagship smartphone OnePlus One, the Chinese company is unveiling its second product today. The OnePlus 2 has a lot of expectations to meet.
The OnePlus 2 boasts of an aluminium-magnesium alloy frame and jewellery-grade stainless steel accents, encasing a full HD 5.5” LCD in-cell display. It is a dual-sim device and supports two Nano SIM cards with 4G LTE capability.
The Android phone will run on a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC. It also comes with up to 4GB of RAM, and storage memory expandable till 64GB.
The OnePlus 2 will have a 13-megapixel (MP) rear camera fitting with six physical lenses, powerful dual LED flash, and f/2.0 aperture.
In addition to OnePlus’ signature Sandstone Black, consumers now have access to a range of covers including actual wood built Bamboo, Black Apricot, Rosewood and even Kevlar.

The OnePlus 2 comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner. Users will be able to wake and unlock the device with one of five stored fingerprints in less than half a second. Additionally, the OnePlus 2 features an alert slider for quick access to custom notification settings. The slider can also silence the device with a simple click.
OnePlus will be unveiling its own operating system, OxygenOS, with its second flagship. Based on Android 5.1, OxygenOS includes subtle customisations like on-screen gestures, dark mode, and the ability to switch between hardware and capacitive buttons and toggle quick settings.
The OnePlus 2 will be available for purchase on Amazon (with an invite) in India starting August 11, for ~ 24,999.
