AngelPrime, a seed-stage venture capital fund based in Bengaluru, and Nasscom, in collaboration with UIDAI, will host the first of its kind online ‘Aadhaar Application Hackathon’ in June this year. The hackathon aims to encourage and promote the development of applications using the Aadhaar application programme interfaces (APIs).
In order to qualify for the non-stop two-day coding marathon, the participants will have to take an online entry test. They can build products in categories like government benefits, financial services, payments, healthcare, FMCG and Online + Offline (O2O).
“Aadhaar was designed as a platform both for government applications as well as innovative applications from diverse developers. The online authentication as well as the electronic KYC capability has the potential to put India at the forefront of service delivery transformation,” Nandan Nilekani, former chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), said in a statement.
