Oracle Asia Pacific today announced plans to leverage its newly gained marketshare in the enterprise applications market to take over the number one spot in Asia Pacific. "We are literlly nipping at SAP's heels in the ERP market in APAC and have already surpassed them in the SCM and HCM markets worldwide," said Mark Gibbs, senior vice president, applications and industries, Oracle Asia Pacific. "Our reported applications growth in the last year for Asia Pacific has been at least double that of SAP's reported 2004 growth. Following the acquisition of Peoplesoft, Oracle has an unbeatable combination of critical mass and momentum," he said. The combined market presence of Oracle and Peoplessoft now includes more than 50,000 employees and 23,000 applications customers worldwide. In Asia Pacific alone, Oracle now serves more than 3,500 applications customers, it said. Oracle Asia Pacific reported year-to-date growth of 24% in new applications licence revenues. |
