Parametric tech eyes SME driven growth

Parametric Technology Corporation, India, a hundred per cent subsidiary of Boston based $1 billion Parametric Technology Corp, a developer and marketer of product lifecycle management (PLM) software solutions and related services, hopes to grow 40 per cent in the coming fiscal on the back of strong growth in its SME business.

The company, which has around 3000 clients from the automotive, autocomponents, heavy engineering, aerospace and defence space, aims to add over 1500 to 2000 new clients over the next two years. “Currently, around 70-75 per cent of all our clients are small and medium businesses, although we have heavy-weights like Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Elecon Engineering, Mazagon Docks Ltd. Among our clientele.”, said Rohit Bidappa, senior marketing manager, PTC India adding that SMEs contribute to nearly 30 per cent of the company’s India revenue. He did not want to share revenue figures as the company was not listed in India, but said that Gujarat and Maharashtra were the main markets for them in the country contributing to over 30 per cent of revenues.
