PICT in pact with Illinois Institute

PICT School of Information Technology and Management (PICT-SITM) has signed an agreement with Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), Chicago to offer the latter's programs such as Master's Degree Programs, a Certificate Program, a Credit Course Program, an Audit Course Program, and a Post-Graduate Diploma Program.
 
The programs offered at the Pune centre would cater to a large spectrum of people ranging from fresh graduates, middle-level managers, lecturers and professors to team leaders and head of departments. The courses will commence from August 2006.
 
These programmes will bring to Indian students an internationally recognised degree, lectures by the IIT professors through streaming video and part-time learning hours for working professionals.
 
Professor Yagoobi, chairman, Department of Mechanical, and Materials and Aerospace Engineering said, "The alliance would provide Indian manufacturers an edge over the Chinese markets as it will facilitate Indian engineers gain knowledge and expertise in the field of manufacturing engineering."
 
"This alliance will bring to India a unique combination of Information technology and manufacturing thus creating a resource pool of superior talent," PICT-SITM Director S Srinivasan said.
