Fujifilm’s Instax has stirred up many memories. Long gone are the days where while sauntering around on the Juhu beach one would need to look for a photographer to get the moment immortalised in polaroid. With the Instax series, all you need to do is carry the small and lightweight camera and click away.
We got our hands on the Instax Mini70 and the cute Hello Kity mini instant camera. We previously reviewed Instax Mini 8 and Instax Mini 90. All of the cameras in the series produce pictures of good output.
The Hello Kitty camera is aimed at the fans of the franchise and can serve as a good gifting option for children.
One needs to put Fujifilm Instax Mini film rolls in the cameras and two AA batteries and they’re good to go. The film rolls come in packs of 10 and 20. The 20-pack film roll is priced at Rs 999. This is where one might think twice before investing because for some the film roll can work out to be a bit expensive.
The cameras might get a bit of getting used in terms of getting the right angle to click a picture of desirable output. If one doesn’t get the lighting right, the pictures might be over-exposed and become a bit blurry. If planning to go on a trip, it is advisable to carry at least two-three packs of film rolls.

However, if one argues that phone cameras have better output, Fujifilm has a device to put those pictures to use as well. The Instax Share SP-1 is a photo printer which can be connected to a smartphone and the pictures on it can be printed out in polaroid form. The Instax Share app needs to be downloaded and it can be synched with the printer to print out pictures. The printer also uses the same type of roll that is needed for the cameras.
Fujifilm’s Instax range sure takes one down the memory lane.
Instax Mini 70 is available for Rs 11,499 while the Hello Kitty camera is available for Rs 8,999.
The Instax Share printer can be bought for Rs 14,499.
