Hyderabad-based IT firm Prithvi Information Solutions has bagged an order worth Rs 309 crore from BSNL to supply transmission equipment that helps increase network bandwidth. Prithvi has tied up with Huwei Technologies, a Chinese telecom major, to source the equipment and will be customising it for BSNL. Prithvi will also be responsible for embedding the NMS (Networking Maintenance Software), assembling, quality check, etc, along with the maintenance of the equipment for the next 5 years. Madhavi Vupalapatti, chairperson, Prithvi Information Solutions, said: "The association of Prithvi with Huwei is expected to generate more software and IT solutions business from global telecom giants." With this order Prithvi Info marks its entry into the domestic telecom space. The company's order book in the telecom space stands at Rs 203 crore as on December 31, 2007. |
