Rangnath Salgame joins Tejas as president

Tejas Networks, an optical networking company, has appointed Rangnath Salgame as the new president.

Prior to joining Tejas, Salgame was with Cisco Systems as president - global projects and prior to that as president, Cisco India, South Asia and SE Asia.

Salgame will lead Tejas through its next phase of expansion and growth. "We are delighted to have Rangu join our senior management team. Rangu brings in a rare combination of entrepreneurial leadership in start-ups as well as in established companies along with rich international experience. He will play a key role in scaling the company to become a global firm," said Sanjay Nayak, CEO, Tejas Networks.

Founded in 2000, the Rs 235 crore company recently received an investment of $24 million from global investment banking and securities firm Goldman Sachs.

Infosys BPO chairman T V Mohandas Pai has joined the Tejas Networks board as an independent director.
